25km Team Relay

We have you covered!

The idea behind the Trail du Mont Rochelle relay is to make trail running a team sport! It gives you the opportunity to run off the beaten path, meet-up with the locals, explore and discover the Franschhoek mountains in a way that only trail running allows.

If running 25km solo on these technical trails at Mont Rochelle seems daunting, why not share the load with a friend?

The starting line is at an altitude of 285m and the highest point at 1575m, for a whopping 1,290 gain from the start to the top of Perdekop Peak.

This relay gets off to a quick start: In the first leg Runner 1 will run 5km to the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve gate via the Cats se Pad trail, then swap over to Runner 2 who will embark on an epic journey of 15km to the top of the mountains which include Perdekop & Du Toitskop Peaks. At Perdekop you will be spoiled with a spectacular view over the Stettynskloof Dam. From there it is about a 4km run to the uitkyk junction at 1,108m where Runner 2 will climb another 300m to the top of Du Toitskop Peak at 1,407m looking over the Franschhoek Valley. Runner 2 will continue with the decent towards the gate to complete the loop in Leg 2. Runner 1 will then once again line up to complete the race in the final stretch to the finish in Leg 3.

We hope you love this course as much as we do!
